I am working with a Denon AVR2807 and a Universal Remote MX-850. I need buttons on the remote for Zone 1 and Zone 2. Basically to get the remote to control Zone 1 at times and Zone 2 at times (like for Volume Control). The AVR2807 Zone 2 and Zone 1 (CRD/VID) buttons cannot be learned on the remote. Any ideas on discrete codes?
Appreciate it.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post and/or maybe I'm misunderstanding the Denon documentation, but what I think I understand is:
You're saying the original remote has buttons to select zone. Those determine which zone is controlled by subsequent presses of buttons such as vol control. You think that means the zone select buttons send signals to tell the AVR2807 how to interpret subsequent signals. But you can't learn those zone select signals.
The Denon IR documentation has distinct vol control signals. It does not have zone select signals that tell it how to interpret subsequent vol control signals. Rather it has zone specific vol control signal.
If I've understood all that correctly, the zone select buttons on the original remote send no signals, but rather determine which signals are sent by subsequent button presses. You need to program the MX-850 similarly.
You can find Pronto Hex for all the signals in the Denon IR documentation in various places at RemoteCentral, or you could create that Pronto Hex yourself with the MakeHex program. I understand a new version of the MX-850 software lets you directly paste Pronto Hex. I don't have access to that software. Lacking that, you can put that Pronto Hex into a CCF file (as discussed in various "Universal Browser" threads) then drag it to your MX-850 configuration by Universal Browser.
