Does anyone have a ccf (not learned) for a Tivo Series 3 yet?

If not, anyone know the device ID and protocol, I'll build try to one with makehex et al..

Thanks,
Scott

What about the specs for a Tivo Series 2? I believ ethey are the same except for a new button or 2. I could generate all the codes and find the new button.

John? I don't have a pronto or I'd learn it and show it. I only have a MX-850 so I can't get the hex back out of it via learning. DO you have what the Tivo is in your database?

Thanks as always,
Scott

I have an MX-850, so you could email a file with learned signals for the MX-850 and I could transmit from the MX-850 to my captureIR system and see what the signals are.

My "database" is just a large collection of downloaded CCF files. That's really good for finding a code set given a decoded signal (even if brand and model don't match). But for finding a device by brand/model, if you can't find it in the online collections I use (mainly the CCF collection at RC) then I can't either.

I also use

and
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

I wouldn't be any better than you at finding something in those two places by brand and model. But if you did find it there I probably know better how to translate it for an MX-850.

John:

That would be great! The Tivo users say the S3 is the same as th S2 with a couple extra buttons. I'll learn the S3 remote, in particular the 2 "new" buttons, and send you a mxd file for it. If you can use your IR capture hardware and decipher it for me so I can use makehex to generate the whole thing that'll be great.

Off to get right on it...

Thanks very much,
Scott

If I were you, assign the tivo to address other then "0", before you teach. That way if in the future you buy another tivo you won't need to redo two full devices.

I got the two mxd files by email, loaded into an mx850 and tested.

In both mxd files the signals were ordinary tivo signals, unit zero.

I don't recall seeing any specific data about "series 2" or "series 3", so I thought this thread inplied the signals were different from the ordinary tivo signals we've seen for a long time.

I didn't check the correspondence of function number to function against older tivo data elsewhere, but the protocol and device numbers etc. are all the same as older tivo signals.

In makehex it is tivo-nec1.irp with the default device number of 133.48. You can change the unit number with "define U=" in the .irp file.
