I am trying to track down discrete ON and OFF
ir codes for a Sanyo AVM-3659G to use in a ProntoPro.
I have used MakeHex with the info you suggested above
(NEC1, Device 56) and then used IRpanels to test each
code and none of them seemed to work.
Do I understand you correctly, none of the signals did anything to the Sanyo? Or did you just mean none were discrete On or Off?
I don't know if
there is something that I am doing wrong in MakeHex, or
if my TV doesn't use NEC1, Device 56.
You can email the CCF created by IrPanels to me and I'll check whether you did anything wrong in MakeHex or IrPanels. I expect your TV does use NEC1:56, but ...
How do you figure
out witch protocol and device number a TV uses?
If you have any signal learned from the original remote or any signal in your Pronto (even a database signal) that works any function of the Sanyo, then it is easy.
For a text string of ordinary Pronto Hex beginning 0000, you can decode with the JP1 version of IrTool.exe.
For that kind of Pronto hex or most other kinds (you probably have the 900A kind) in a CCF file, you can use the DecodeCCF program to decode it.
If you don't want to learn those programs, you could post the Pronto Hex of any working signal for your Sanyo or email a CCF with a working signal, and I'll tell you the Protocol and device number.
