Something weird happened with my DVD Player LGDVB418 aka LDA-531 today. I wanted to use its remote to control my SONY KDFE50A10. To program a remote code, you have to keep the TV power button pressed and insert it (all the remote codes are at the end of the owner's manual).

For the SONY I chose 12. When I inputted this code, the 418 was on and something blinked in its led display.

As a result, the remote changed the aspect ratio and now this is no longer correct when displaying pictures at 1080i/60

The remote works with my tv set, but the problem is that this code did something also to the DVD player changing the aspect ratio in a wrong way when picture is being displayed at 1080i (wide 16:9 by default through HDMI connection). This does not happen at lower resolutions. The display menu won't help, to correct the wrong setting. Not even resetting the device or flashing the firmware again will. Please help, if you can. There must be a new code that will correct the default aspect ratio at 1080i.

Before using this remote code, this player worked great at 1080i for several months with no problems at all. I know for sure that this is not related to my Sony TV set, as I've hooked up other devices @1080i and the aspect ratio at that resolution is correct.

There must be a code to fix this problem and I'd like to use a Pronto TS1000 to send it to the player. Can anybody help? I've read about makehex and IR panels and if I understood well, with the right information, I would be able to generate all the possible codes and find the right one.

The DVD Player remote part number is 6711R1N167A (LG) equivalent of 6711R1P070H (Zenith)

Can you please help? Thanks
