i am starting the search for a large screen tv and i am wondering what brands of ldc's/plasmas/dlp's have easy to use discrete input selection codes.

i want to use an all-in-one remote and don't want to have to scroll for the input since this would not lend itself to macros to set the inputs.

i have done a little reading through the threads in this forum and noticed that some brands don't get mentioned, like vizio, maxent, sony, lg to name some off the top of my head that i didn't see questions for.
does that mean that they have discrete codes that are already programmed into their remotes.

thanks.

Mits, Sony, Fujitsu, some others. Might be easier to give us some models you are looking at. It's like saying, "which cars are pretty good on gas?"

The only Vizio I encountered at a client's home had no discrete power and I can't remember the inputs.

Cheaper units often are more difficult to control.

If you absolutely must have discrete codes don't gamble on a no-name brand since there are NO guarantees. Even if one model does, that doesn't mean the next will since there is typically little to no consistency.

Visio has discrete inputs, no dicrete power. I recently did project with a Pioneer Elite in the family room and a Visio in the Master bedroom. I know this is not a fair comparsion, but the client is now getting another Elite for the master bedroom. The Visio looks like dog log in comparsion, just a forewarning.

If you must buy a cheapo tv, you would be well advised to stay away from Visio.

I used one Maxent recently that had discreet inputs, no discreet power however.
The last LG i used had discreet power and input.
