I just got upgraded from a Scientific Atlanta 2000HD to a 3100 for my digital/HD cable box. I know that no one seems to have found discrete on/off codes for the 2000 but I was hoping somebody had found them for the 3100. Has anybody? It would be the icing on my MX-500 cake if I could get these codes!

That's what I was afraid of, but at least it's nice to have it confirmed. Thanks, John!

Leave it all the time on... and inform customer what to do in emergency (make "help" button, what means "power on/off). I had customer who could not recognize cable-box of receiver, so I made "help" and put a sticker in yellow color on the cable-box - "press here!")...

Please provide a link to where I said or "claimed" I have/had discrete codes for Scientific Atlantic Cableboxes.

Very curious.

I'm not sure but I think I know where the confusion comes from.
John, I downloaded your component SA3100 ccf and on the Explorer3100 - Codes panel you have a pwr button, an on button and an off button. I haven't been able to try them as I still don't have the SA3100HD yet. What are these???

I thought it was kind of strange because I remember this and other threads where the consensus is that there are no discrete ON/OFFs for this device. Just curious.

Thanks,

TomW.

OK,
Looks like John's not gonna respond as to what the on button and off button in his SA3100 ccf are.
I finally tried them and whatever they're for I can tell you they are not for the SA3100. I think that the consensus then is
NO discretes for this device. For me, no prob, I'll leave it on (it's a rental anyway).

TomW.
