Are there nay discrete codes for the picture mode on Sony Wega TVs. I would like to be able to switch from Standard to Movie without having to toggel through the choices.

Thanks,

Chris

Jim

Please can you tell me how to navigate to the above remotes section, I'm getting very confused with the way the Yahoo groups work (not as good for newbies as RemoteCentral!)

I'm after the same info as Chris and would like to know where I can obtain a full set of discretes for a UK spec Sony KV32FQ75U Wega TV.

Thanks

Richard

As far as I know, no one has yet been able to find any discrete codes for the Picture Mode on Wega TV's. I too would really like to find some, but I don't think there are any.

I presume these would work for the Sony KP51HW40.

I'm a novice at this. I have programed discrete codes into my MX-500 by entering the 3-number code into an OFA 8811 and learning it to the MX-500. How do I get the above large codes into the MX-500? Is this where I need the JP1 cable and the IR.exe software, or do these somehow correspond to the 3-number code for the OFA remote?

These would be the code for the wide modes on the Sony. What about codes for the picture (standard, movie, pro, vivid) mode codes.

Drengka,

If you are lucky it will be Setup Code TV_0000

EFC OBC Function
024 066 Wide Zoom
040 050 Zoom
023 069 Sub-Title
038 049 Normal

The EFC's are also known as Advanced Codes and I assume that you know how to progam those keys to your OFA URC-8811. This will be for Sony 15-bit protocol device 164 the normal secondary device code for Sony TV's. The OBC's are the true command codes.

The Pronto hex codes above are for the same command codes but for device 36. Although I have not seen device 36 used in Sony TV's before, those same command codes do apparently work for some Sony TV's using device 164.

If those codes don't work with TV_0000, then you will need a JP-1 cable and do a device upgrade to add device 36. It is quite easy if you have the cable.

PS1,
Do you know which particular Sony TV's respond to device 36? Any other details that you have would be helpful.

Jon

Jon,

It seems that the data I have is confusing. Some of the information I have indicate device 164 other information I have indicate device 36. A quick check of the hex codes indicate a one bit difference; the last bit before the leadout. For device 164 that should be 0030. So taking the hex codes posted above and replacing the last 0018 by 0030 gives the IR codes for device 164. For now I would assume device 164 is correct.

I will do some more followup trying to figure out how I got the codes mixed up.

PS1,

The codes worked fine. However, you didn't list an EFC code for the "normal" setting. Does one exist? Since I only use these for macro programming, All I need is the toggle code and one of the wide modes so that I can go to the specific one and then toggle the appropriate number of times to get to the desired mode. Just out of curiousity, what does "ECF" stand for?

Finally, you wouldn't happen to have the codes for the Picture Modes for the Sony (Vivid, Pro, Movie, Standard)?

Again thanks.
