Jason,

I've got a Samsung HLS 5087, and I'm trying to figure out how to program my MX-500 to directly select "Component 1" and "Component 2" . I'm using a Radio Shack 4-in-1, and I programmed the codes 134 and 136 (from your post above) in to it, but they didn't work. I have a feeling that I'm totally misinterpreting what those numbers represent. Can you possibly tell me what I need to know to program this remote?

(To clarify, my intent is to use the 4-in-1 to "teach" the MX-500, just in case that wasn't obvious.)

Thanks for any and all help,
Glenn

Never mind! I found the codes I was looking for about a dozen pages into this thread. Next time I won't be quite so quick to beg for help. ;)

Many thanks

Hi, I have a Samsung LN41R71B. It's a HDTV LCD TV. The remote included with the TV has direct IR codes for TV (Antenna) and PC, but lacks direct codes for the other inputs (I'm interested in Component2 and HDMI), so I have to switch via "input next". I'm trying to discover if my TV is able to go directly to the other sources. I've tried the codes you supplied here (the first set, device code:7). The codes for On, Off, Antenna, PC and S-Video worked with my TV, but the commands for component sources and HDMI didn't. Any suggestions?

I have heard that a few new code sets are floating around.
If anyone has any of the new code documents from Samsung,
please forward them to me, and I will decoded them and
post them here.

Jason

Jason,

I found the following on the AVS Forum. The Hex Codes dont seem to convert in Pronto. Have you seen these? Are they viable? Thanks.

---------------------------------------------
If you have a remote that can be programmed with "hex codes" (RTI, for example), then you can set up a couple of custom functions:

Enter Service Menu: "Info" followed by "Service Menu".

Exit Service Menu: "Service Menu" followed by "Service Menu".

"Info" hex code:
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AB 00AB 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0040 0014 0714

"Service Menu" hex code:
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AB 00AB 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0715

In other words, while the TV is on, simply invoke "Enter Service Menu". When you're done with the service menu, simply invoke "Exit Service Menu". Yes, exiting requires *two* invocations of the "Service Menu" code (to get past the infamous "aging" non-error code). One button press to get in, another to get out. Nothing could be simpler.

Looks like some people were looking for some Samsung IR codes for newer models. If you have any new documentation from Samsung, let me know and I'll update this list.

Are you limiting your list to functions found in Samsung documentation, rather than functions found by code searches or similar methods?

The "Info" hex code above decodes to function 31, which you already have in your list.

The "Service Menu" hex code above decodes to function 59, which you don't have in your list.

I am limiting it to either codes I can verify on a set in front of me, or from documentation provided by Samsung. if someone else has a code that they can confirm works, then post it here as well as upload it to the files section.

Does anyone know where to get the code for the source on Samsung PS-42Q7H 42" Plasma. It is driving me nuts as the TV does not recognize my Pioneer DV-969 DVD when powering up. It's hooked on HDMI1 on the TV. I am using a Pronto TCU700.

I have a HL-S6188W...Does anyone have the PIP codes for it?
I used to have the HLN507W and it had all of the Pip codes on the remote(Size, Location, Channels, on and off)
But the HLS only has the PIP ON/OFF and channel up and down...I would like to be able to set the location and size without having to go through all of the steps in the menu.
Thanks very much in advance!

Are there any for the video input of a Samsung TX-R2765?

If you tried these codes and they did not work, then I would doubt it. I had a 2745 and the power codes worked but I never was able to get the input codes to work. That TV did not support discrete input codes.

I have noticed some inconsistencies with some of the latest releases of DLPs and LCd sets. I will be updating these products this week after testing on both sets.
