Are there discrete codes for the above mentioned functions? The "normal" way ist to step through the different sound fields. Same applies to the levels for the surround speakers.

André,
you find the surround level codes in the files section. I think the STR-DE435 uses them.
As for the soundfield discretes... anyone?

I think the new 875 & 1075 both break from all the previous "standard" Sony discrete codes.

As far as I know, no way to get to surround modes except toggling, and no discrete tuner presets.

A major step backwards!?

Barry,
thanks for the information... even though it was not what I wanted to hear ;-)
Are there any known workarounds? Unfortunately the receiver "remembers" the last soundfield programme used.

Andre-

Sorry, but our installers didn't find any workarounds.

We assumed they would use the standard Sony codes... ended up changing to different model receivers. Strange changing codes on these models from the "usual" - this years ES receivers are still OK.

Maybe it's a lack of talent &/or imagination, but I've never been able to figure out a really simple & reliable way to automate A/V equipment without a decent set of discrete IR codes or RS-232 commands. Any manufacturers listening here!?

Barry,
thanks for having had a look. I guess I just have to cope with the surround field +/- keys. Could be worse (no discrete off, for example!!)
