Anyone have the discrete on/off codes for JVC DVD players? The model number is XV-S60.

I don't have disretes for your dvd player, but there might be a work arround. Check to see if your DVD player turns on when "play" is depressed. If it does, tyr this.

Your discretes could be as follows.

Power on:
Play

Power off:
Play
.02 delay
Toggle power

can you explain to me what jose meant by 02 delay, is there a delay button or it's just that you have to wait 1 or 2 second to press toggle power.

Here they are in Pronto hex. These are the generic discrete power codes for JVC:

Device Code: 239 Function: 26-Off
0000 006D 0012 0011 013F 00A0 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0382 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0382

Device Code: 239 Function: 29-On
0000 006D 0012 0011 013F 00A0 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0382 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0382

I tried these and they do not work for me. Unlike all other JVC devices, the DVD players apparently do not support discrete power on/off. My macro would work much better if they did.

The "play" (for on) and "play - power" (off) are the only workarounds I am aware of. This has some drawbacks, since play is an active command and may result in unwanted actions, if the macro is sequenced more than once. Another problem is if you load the DVD disc in the player, it automatically powers up and is ready to go at the menu level, so invoking the macro to get to the DVD controls or configure audio/video results in disc play.
