I'm trying to set up an "all off" macro for my ProntoPro, and can't find discrete power on/power off hex codes for my Toshiba SD-5700 DVD player or Scientific Atlanta 2100 (3100?) cable box. Anyone know where I can get them?

Here's the "On" code for the 5700. I've never been able to find an off code. To solve this, I've plugged the 5700 into the switched outlet on my receiver, so when I turn off the receiver the 5700 turns off as well.

How do I get that discrete ON code into my Cinema 7 remote? I thought the discrete codes were only 3 digits long?!? I'm obviously confused. Can someone help?

bcronin,

Sorry, I don't know anything about the Cinema7 remote. I'm assuming that there's probably a tool out there somewhere that will convert the raw Hex code into something you can use.

Good luck.

on off is easy with dvd players( for the most part) all you have to do is
ON:
play--------turns it on every time
Delay .3
stop

OFF:
Play--------makes sure it is on
Delay .3
Power-------then toggles power (on due to play and
then to off)

I tried the on code Cam posted last night and it worked fine on my SD4800. Tonight I will try nnatic1211 idea, using Cam's on code, delay .3, then toggle to turn off. The SD4800 does have a 20 minute timer for automatic power off if the player is stopped or the screen saver is engaged. I tested this last night and it worked fine.

toshiba dvd;when they turn on...they don't see an other ir for a while....until they finish saying (hello welcome to toshiba world) it takes approx 7 seconds before it can see another command....so I don't think the .3 seconds delay will be good enough... your dvd will probably stay on.

Last night I tried nnatic1211 idea, using Cam's on code, delay .3, then toggle to turn off on the SD4800. It worked fine. I put it in my system shutoff macro and tried it and it worked fine. The DVD player comes on, scrolls some text on the display, then shuts off. It doesn't shutoff right away, but it does buffer the command. I also tried to play a disc using Cam's discrete ON code to see if it worked using the play button. It did NOT play a disc from pause as the Play button does. The Play button also turns on the DVD player if it is off.

Now I'm off to learn the photo viewer application in the player.
