I have a Akai CFT2790 tv and a Philips FR 965 surround sound system. I received a mx500 remote the other day and having a hard time getting macros to work with it. I'm looking for the discrete codes to change inputs on the tv. Currently I have to hit the input button however many times thats needed to get the tv from where its at to somewhere else. Makes it hard to set a macro like that. If you happen to have the power off/on then that would be nice but isn't really needed.

Now for the surround sound, I don't know if anything can be done but currently if its off then in order to turn it on you have to push and HOLD the input selection button for about 2 seconds. This will then turn the unit on and put itself at that input. Now even if the unit is already on, and you want to switch inputs, you still have to push and hold the button (for about 2 secs) for it to do so. Just the way it works. However I have not found any remote to do that in a macro. The mx500 don't. Maybe theres a discrete code that can get around this? Having to turn it on manually and manually having to change inputs kinda defeats the point of setting a macro.

btw, I plan on putting these discrete codes on the mx500 by using a radioshack 15-2117.

Thanks in advance!
Scott
