Oh ye people smarter than me. I got a little further with Infocus and got this IR list which is supposed to use the NEC IR protocol. Notice the more sensible two digit codes. I'd love to know how I turn these into proper hex codes for the pronto - teach a man to fish and what not, but certainly wouldn't turn a cold sholder on anyone who just wanted to spoon feed me.

I think I'll need a device code or id as well, which I think will match the device id for the X1, since many of the codes are the same ...

I think the LP640 uses the Aiwa protocol. In post 9 of this thread:

I created the Pronto hex with MakeHex. You need to make a ccf file with a few of those commands using Pronto edit v.4 and then save the ccf file and import into the Universal browser.

Test to make sure they control your Projector. If so, you can then generate all 256 commands in MakeHex and try them all.

That has a risk that you erase factory settings or do something that will require a factory service call, but that is probably the only way you can find out if it has discrete commands.
