The remote that came with my Pioneer VSX36 has a system off button that works as a discrete off. Does anyone know if you can set it for discrete ON for the pioneer components (amp/dvd)?
I'm programming an MX500 so I have to learn the code from another remote.

There are discrete On and OFF codes for this receiver. But as far as I know, you would need a Pronto/Marantz remote or a One For All remote to take advantage of them. Then you could learn then to the MX-500.
