Help with finding these codes as greatly appreciated!

I know of no cable box with discrete on discrete off codes. Would be a dream if Motorola would do it, as of the millions and millions of these units that are sold there are many people that could and should use this feature.

Question, Why do you need to shut off a cable box? Just curious!

We do want them to be on . However the problem is many clients are fixated about the power of all units being off when not in use. They turn them off, sometimes not even intentionally. This becomes problematic when we have built a macro on a remote for one button system on control .
Come on set top box manufacturers... lets get with the nineties and give us discrete on , discrete off IR commands (or at least an on)
Perhaps through Remote Cental we could start a petition to send to someone at Motorola??

I agree with Scoop about just leaving the cable boxes on, but for those who want to turn the cable box off and on discretely, I have an answer that may work. I want the credit of this to go to my friend Hailey Williamson who came up with this idea. Its not a true discrete code by any means but it will get you by if you just have to do it.
As you probably know, when the menu button is pressed on the DTC6200 while the cable box is off, the DTC6200 will go into setup mode. Using this to your advantage, try this sequence of buttons:
Power Off - MENU POWER Power On - POWER MENU POWER POWER
I will test this tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I'm on satellite so I have to test it at work.
Let me know how it works for you.

It does work. I used a 0.1 second delay between every function and it worked great. You now have a macro that be used somewhat discretely with Comcast cable boxes (or any other cable company that uses the DTC-6200).
Thank you Hailey!

Just an update,
We have also found that the Power Off can be just: MENU POWER POWER The first power isn't needed.
I'm glad it works for you

you and Hailey are great worked like a charm for me I am of the camp that you should just leave the box on always, but some clients did not like that and now I can take care of them.
Thanks again
