Guess I'm going to have to dig into this more. My HLP6163 does not work with many of the remote codes listed so far. I'll research some of these threads. Anybody have an idea how to differentiate between the various remote controls on these systems?

The Pronto hex is posted on the first page in the third post. What remote are you trying to program?

I've got a Pronto 2000. The codes for HDMI, 4:3. 16:9 as posted do not work with my HLP6153. Component 1 works ok, as do discrete On/Off for the Samsung.

The HLP6163 that is in front of me right now works with the codes published for the W1 series of sets. Still no antenna code or HDMI, but working on it.
Also, the discrete ON command only works for about three minutes after the set is turned off. After the internal fan shuts off, the TV will only respond to the toggle command. Still working on that snafu as well.

Mine is an HLP6163 as well (typo above). For me, the Video 2 seemed to select Video 3 (or vice versa --not in front of set now), DVI and PC worked ok, as did Power On and Power Off. Those are the only IRs that seemed to work on the Samsung when I loaded the remote with those hex codes. Mine is HLP6163WX/XAA.

So that's why I can't turn on my HLP6163 after I shut it off! And here I thought it was the latest version of the Pronto TSU7000 firmware (people have reported that they sometimes have to add .1s delay for certain commands now).

Let us know if you figure that one out Jason!

I sat down with an HLP 4663W last week and ran all 256 codes by it and managed to duplicate every function of the OEM remote as well as all of the discrete codes except for the HDMI and Antenna codes. It looks as if these are not part of this firmware. I also found another version of S-Video 2 as well as a few more duplicate codes.

Thanks for taking a look at this Jason. Did you happen to figure out the discrete power issue?

Jason,
I have an HLP4663W as well and have been working on URC codes for a few weeks. I have noticed the power ON issue, but my delay time before EFC 001 (DiscreteON) will not work is 30-40 seconds. On a few occasions I have been able to get DiscreteON to function at any time, but it is very intermittent. Every time I reprogram my URC-9960 it may or may not (usually not) work. I have a couple of learned codes, one that works and one that does not, and they very by +4440 -4502 .... and +4440 -4504... in raw data..... Any data you get on the discrete ON would be appreciated and is the only thing I need to complete my setup!

Yes, that's the work-around I'm using; discrete
code to DVI followed by a single pulse of TV/Video.
It does does the job, but it would be nice to
have a discrete....

The problem with this workaround (which I am also using) is that you need to add a significant delay to make sure that the DVI takes effect before having the TV/Video signal sent. Do you agree?

As an aside, I continue to have conversations with Samsung and am pushing them to come out with the correct HDMI code.

Yep, I had to add a delay (1.5s) to get the HDMI workaround to work adequately.

Here is the alternate S-Video command I found last week as well as two other alternate commands. As for the other issues, I made Samsung aware of the problem at Cedia this week and will be following up with e-mail information this week.

I've been following this thread for some time now. Has there been anymore progress on the HDMI and power-on discrete codes?

As of today, no new information from Samsung and we have made no new progress in the field.
