Yes, that's the work-around I'm using; discrete code to DVI followed by a single pulse of TV/Video. It does does the job, but it would be nice to have a discrete....

Fred,
Here is the DVI code: Device Code: 7 Function: 140 0000 006d 0000 0022 00ac 00ac 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0689

PHSJason,
Are there THREE Samsung display command sets out there? I know of two, but have not seen NECx2:7:140 as DVI in either of them?

Well the DVI works. Now all we need is the HDMI code.

Jon,
It appears there are a lot of codes out there for the new dlps and they vary from model to model. The DVI code was found by someone a few weeks ago. I have a 43" in the shop and will run the coe through it this week.

PHSJasopn,
Thanks! I'll try it out this weekend. I wonder why there are 3 separate codes listed for this input?
Just pondering...

Hi everyone just wanted to post my thanks for the discrete codes for the sammy, and a little info regarding the code which brings up the 'Tv' and 'Cable' boxes onscreen. Didnt see this brought up in other posts but you get those boxes whenever you make the associated selection within the samsung remote control. As its a multicontrol for tv, stb, vcr, cable, and dvd the sammy is just notifying which mode is in effect. Looks like that Ant1 is still as elusive as ever.

Will a Ch+ take it to the tuner mode? NO! Isn't that the STUPIDEST thing you ever heard of? I have been telling my clients for ten years that TV remote systems are made so that if they hit Ch+, the TV will go to the TV tuner, on the theory that if you are hitting Ch+, obviously you want a channel! I remember TVs that did not do this, in the late 1980s, and this was the first bit of automation-friendly coding that I remember, as it gave us an "anchor" for selecting particular inputs. Samsung has taken away just about the most massively useful incidental switching function found in all TVs. Maybe their TV engineers are 25 years old and do not realize what havoc they are causing by doing this because they do not remember how hard it was before Ch+ input switching was enabled. Or possibly a valid channel number(s)+ enter? This would also be a good idea, but Ch+, when implemented, takes you to the last channel you were on, rather that actually moving up one channel, on most sets. I am not sure what entering a number would do, especially as up to three digits can be involved.

I just purchased an HLP-4663W. Searching as well for ANT-1 (Air) discrete. Have tried OBCs 027, 067, 251, 008, 011 which I have found in other forums. With 123 and 125, I get the blue boxes which is the beheivior when selecting the "Mode" button on the Samsung remote. Any advice would be appreciated!

READ ENTIRE thread for a FREE HEX to IR TOOL! Does anyone have a complete list of all 3 variations of Samsung's codes? I seem to have 2 sets (direct from samsung) I have had a heck of the time with my sammy hln507w1x/xaa set. SOME discretes work, others do not (vid2, vid3, svid2, comp3, DVI, ant) I am just getting into the technicals of IR codes, but with a little work, I have come up with an IR code generator in Excel based on info I got from Samsung level 2 support. This saves A TON of time deciphering the IR codes... (plus EASY to use!) For anyone on the boards, You can download it from my site here: [Link: ww2.skiggles.com]***NOTE: You MUST install and load the Analysis ToolPak add-in in Excel. if not, it will not work (the sheet uses the command =BIN2HEX) If you have problems Go to help in excel, type in BIN2HEX and follow instructions there. This was only tested on EXCEL 2003 Let me know via email or if you have any questions or comments about the XLS file [email protected]Brian

Jon, There are only the two codesets that I know of, but the DVI was found by trial and error and is not on any of the published sets.

Could someone please post the HDMI discrete hex codes? I know that I can use the tools, but if someone's already done it, it would save some time.
Thx.

Jason I think I'm the one that did suggest the possibility of three code sets based on your posting of the DVI command some time back. So for anyone following this thread, Jason is by far the expert on this subject and if he only knows of two command sets plus the DVI code, then I don't think any others exist.

bmontini, don't take this as not appreciating the initiative and intelectual challenge of creating a Pronto hex generator, but most of us here use John Fine's MakeHex. John also wrote several other tools to decode ccf files, Pronto hex, RTI TT cml files, and OFA remotes learned commands. The advatage is that we can all use a shorthand notation of IR commands and post lists of commands rather than the Pronto hex. If you go to the third post on the first page of this thread you will see an example. Here is a link to some of John's tools: [Link: remotecentral.com]
