I just have to ask the question, after over 2
years and many model changes, what part of discrete
IR input, (or discrete everything for that matter)
does Sharp not understand?

The discretes listed on this forum used on the LC-45GX6U ALL worked fine first time for me. This is part of the same product family. They also worked for all relevant functions on my 20" Sharp.

Since these functions are relatively determinstic, I'd be inclined to look for other problems.

Ok, here we are three years later and I have the identical problem, I have posted queries on this forum without much results. If someone just told me 'give it up, discrete inputs don't exist on that set' I could deal with it and get over it, but until then I want discrete inputs! I don't think I am the only one, please help? John Fine you must be able to solve this one, you are the IR master afterall!

I think if John had a device to test for every code request that came his way he would have a warehouse full. I am afraid he can not do any more than the rest of us unless Sharp hires him to design their code sets!

I have been quietly working on this as well. I have some documentation coming to me this week that may or may not be new. My problem is that I rarely have a set in hand long enough to do extensive testing. All I can do is look at the device and function variations.

I don't mind to do the testing, I just need some guidance or clarity, I already tested device 1, 17 and 30 functions 0-255 and I have the set in my house indefinitely so I really want to figure this one out. I don't mean to come off sounding unappreciative of what you guys do here, I just see that this one has been around a while and it stumps me that it hasn't been cracked yet thats all.

I have yet to get my hands on the most recent fax from sharp on your model. I have not been to the office to pick it up. I will decifer it as soon as I can.
