Is is possible that these are on system 01111 instead of 10000 The codes I posted were for 10000. There were a few commands for 01111 in the file I translated, but not the input commands.

Hi Jarmstrong
I am really just guessing. I have tried every sharp code set on this site and they all don't work with the Sharp LC-37G4U.
The MX-700 set that supposedly works with this model only works on the power on/off commands. (and some arcane other service commands)
I guess I am going to have to hack this with channel up etc. etc. macro. really poor for a $5,000 TV set.

This worked for Input 3 on the Sharp LC-37HV6U as well as the other input I posted earlier.
Input 3

Thanks for the pcf Ben, this was the 2nd alternate in3, of course it was the last code I tried as I was about to give up.

Sorry...Please disregard previous post....accidentally clicked too soon.
I've received yet another file from Sharp this morning with the notation, “Attached are the codes for all G-series.” They say that if these don’t work, they don’t have anything else.
I tried to replace the tabs with spaces so the columns and rows will remain intact in this posting, but will be happy to email the xls file to anyone who would like it. (I see in the preview window that the formatting in this Forum apparently not only doesn't like tabs, but doesn't like multiple spaces. For clarification, column 1 is code name, column 2 is "system", columns 3 - 4 - 5 are "data", and columns 6-7 are "hex code".)
Can someone convert the codes below to Pronto Hex and post here in the forum? If you need the original xls file, just let me know.
CODE(15Bit) code SYSTEM DATA HEX c1 - c5 c6 - c11 c12.c13 c14,c15 CODE Power On(only) 10001 010100 10 10 11 14A Power Off(only) 10001 110100 10 10 11 14B Input1 10000 101011 00 10 01 135 Input2 10000 011011 00 10 01 136 Input3 10000 111011 00 10 01 137 Input4 10000 101100 11 10 01 1CD Input5 10001 001100 10 10 11 14C

If you want to see what someone's post looked like before the forum's HTM effects wrecked the column alignment, you can click on the "Edit Post" link of their post.
It shouldn't let you save any changes (since you're not the right user). But it does let you get to the raw contents. Then you can select and copy those contents and paste them into a text editor (Windows Notepad) where they won't be as badly word wrapped.
I'm not sure how to make the forum respect multiple spaces. Failing that, you could always use ^H in notepad to reblace blank with _ and get something like:
code________________SYSTEM______DATA______________________________HEX ___________________c1_-_c5_____c6_-_c11___c12.c13____c14,c15______CODE Power_On(only)______10001_______010100______10_________10___________11______14A Power_Off(only)_____10001_______110100______10_________10___________11______14B Input1______________10000_______101011______00_________10___________01______135 Input2______________10000_______011011______00_________10___________01______136 Input3______________10000_______111011______00_________10___________01______137 Input4______________10000_______101100______11_________10___________01______1CD Input5______________10001_______001100______10_________10___________11______14C

To match the ones you have listed to the Pronto Hex posted earler, look at just the two numbers listed under "HEX CODE": The first is "11" for device 17 and is "01" for device 1. The second has a leading "1", which you should ignore, then has a two digit hex number, which you can translate to decimal (using Windows Calculator in view/scientific if you don't know easier ways). For example, "Power On" is shown as 4A, which is 74 decimal. That means it is the command posted earlier as "Power On Device Code: 17 Function: 74"

I am following this correctly that these NEW codes are no different? The ON OFF are the same for sure, but how about the inputs?

John,
Thanks for your suggestions regarding forum formatting issues.
Regarding the "new" codes...you said that these are identical to those in a previous post - are you referring to the October 30 post by Galileo01?
...and to follow up on Scott's (cinemaNsound) question...does that include the input commands as well?
If that's the case, I want to get back in touch with my Sharp contact who sent me this "new" code set with this info. Sorry to be relying on the rest of you for the conversion/comparison, but I'm out on a project site today using a client's computer and, in any event, I'm nearly as fluent as some of you other guys in making these conversions quickly.
Thanks very much and I would very much appreciate your continued feedback.

I'll answer my own question...John is absolutely correct. I just found a printout I had of a more complete code set Sharp sent to me about 6 weeks ago and all of these (On, Off, and Inputs 1-5) are identical.
So much for the "new" information.
Sorry about any wasted effort on this...I simply took Sharp's claim at face value.

The ON OFF are the same for sure, but how about the inputs? As avdconsultants implied in post 39 and 40, these "new" commands for input1 through input5 are the function numbers 53, 54, 55, 205 and (device 17) 76 which were expanded to Pronto Hex in post 17 (and various previous places in this forum).

Just So this is clear.
These input codes do NOT WORK with the Aquos LC-37G4U. (Input 1 thru 5)
Power ON Power Off PC Direct These do work
Sharp does not seem to know what codes this product has.

Since there doesn't seem to be any discreets for the inputs, how about creating a simple macro that will switch the inputs for you. Say for example you are watching Satellite and want to configure your system to watch a DVD. Let's say Satellite is on input 1 and DVD is input 4. On your macro button to go to DVD from Sat, simply insert the "input" command for your TV, then down arrow 3 times. Then if you want to go back to Satellite, simply input into your macro "input" then up arrow 3 times. Since the inputs are all fixed, this should work when switching to any source (TV, VCR, PC, etc). Haven't tried it yet, but can't imagine why it wouldn't work. I agree with an earlier post - you spend $5k on a TV, it ought to give you discreets. My last TV (Sony) had discreets for everything I needed.

Has anyone solved the problem with Aquos input disctretes? I noticed some of these posts are quiet old - are there any updates to this problem?

I just have to ask the question, after over 2 years and many model changes, what part of discrete IR input, (or discrete everything for that matter) does Sharp not understand?
