There is an upgrade file at the OFA/JP1 group for the Dell W3000 that makes me think it is made by LG Electronics since the basic IR command set is the same.

If so, then these are the typical discrete commands for LG. If you have a Pronto you can create the hex with MakeHex. Search for that term in this forum and you will find links and instructions. OBC=Function and te Protocol is NEC1 device=4.

Obviously, try these at your own risk, because I don't have the gear and this is educated guesswork.

NEC1:4 (OFA Setup code TV/0019)

OBC EFC
196 172 POWER ON
197 176 POWER OFF
197 176 SYSTEM OFF
214 110 ANT/CABLE or TV
152 253 RGB & POWER ON
152 253 RGB 1
213 112 RGB-PC or RGB
198 174 RGB2-DVI or RGB-DVI or PC
215 114 RGB-DTV
090 231 VIDEO & POWER ON
090 231 VIDEO or VIDEO 1
208 109 VIDEO 2 or VIDEO(Exp.)
209 113 VIDEO 3 or FRONT-VIDEO
210 111 VIDEO 4 or FRONT-VIDEO
081 105 S-VIDEO & POWER ON
081 105 S-VIDEO or S-VIDEO 1
216 237 S-VIDEO
211 115 S-VIDEO 2
191 034 COMPONENT & POWER
191 034 COMPONENT or COMPONENT 1
212 108 COMPONENT 2
119 138 16:9 (ASPECT RATIO) or WIDE
118 134 4:3 (ASPECT RATIO)
175 098 ZOOM (ASPECT RATIO)
153 001 AUTO CONFIGURE

Can some one point me to the instruction on how to get this in to a ccf so that I can get this on to the HTM mx-700.
It would be appreciated.

I recently wrote those instructions in this thread:
[Link: remotecentral.com]

You want nec1.irp and device 4, rather than NECx1.irp device 45 (as in that thread) but otherwise the process is the same.

Once you have that CCF with all 256 commands you can select the ones you actually want using the OBC numbers Jon posted (ignore the EFC numbers since you don't have a UEI remote).

I just tried every entry in the CCF File that I generated using makehex, on my Dell W3000. I only found a few codes that worked, but the only replicated existing remotes functions. Nothing new. Not a single discrete out of this. Sucks. Anyone has an idea where I can find the discrete codes for each input.

Paul

There were earlier reports that the latest version of MXEdit/Universal Browser was not converting ccf's correctly but I thought it had been fixed.

I think that you are saying that a few of those 256 commands worked and the few that did were already on the OEM remote. That makes me think something is still wrong with the conversion routine.

If you are saying that the ones that worked replicated every command on the OEM remote (which will only be a fraction of the 256 commands) then the conversion routine is probably working OK.

Do you have an OFA remote by any chance?

Well, I give up.

Got my self a Zektor HDS4 switch and just running everything HDTV. If any one does discover the codes, it would be appreciated.

Does anyone happen to have the discrete ON/OFF CCF codes for Dell W3000 LCD TV? I need them so I can automate on/off control with Homeseer software.

Any help is much appreciated.

I had to be the bearer of bad news but someone sent me an official looking document from Dell with the commands for the various models and the W3000 had no discrete power commands listed. They do use a subset of the LG codes that use the NEC1 protocol device = 4. It looks like someone has already tried all 256 possible commands in post 6.

I use HS and before I got rid of my TOADS used this video sensor to determine if the TV is On:

Then send a power toggle as approprite. I think that may be better than turning off all power.
