For the DVD my answer would be the same as I posted here:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

These are, IMO, the most likely discrete On and Off commands for your Sky Box. I have no idea whether they work. I think all Sky Boxes use the same commands they are IR protocol RC6-6-20 a variation of the RC6 command set used by Philips and others.

Since the Pronto ccf file for the Sony Skybox receiver that I decoded used function=12 for power toggle like almost all other devices that use the RC6 protocol, I generated RC6-6-20 F=63 and F=61 for discrete On and Off respectively. 63 is On and 61 is Off for most devices that use the RC6 or RC5 protocols AND respond to discrete power commands.

In fact the other thread I referenced above for the Philps DVD uses the RC6 protocol and if you look at the last hex words 003D and 003F are decimal 61 and 63. The hex is in the database format however and it looks very different.

So use at your own risk -- they could turn everything purple or do a factory reset!

Sony-Sky (0,61) Function: 061 OFF

Sony-Sky (0,63) Function: 063 ON

Please let me know if these work.

Pressing the SKY button always works as power on. There is no discrete for button off, you have to press SKY then the power toggle - which is fine if your remote can handle macros.

Thank for the codes ILOVE BOSE.

The Sky codes work fantasticly but unfortunately the philips codes work as the power button. They turn the player both on and off.

Thanks again i'm one step closer and if you have any further ideas about the dvd player then i would be really grateful.

Cheers mate

Did you already try the workaround that I suggested in my original answer at the top of the thread?

This is the the link:

Someone else responded that it worked.

I agree with jarmstong use the code i posted for the power toggle.
If the DVD player turns On from Off with the Play button

Then a macro for ON could be Play command then the Stop command

and for OFF the macro could be Play command then the Power Toggle command

You may need to tinker with delays between commands.

This might work please let us know if it does and what delays you used thanks

ILB
