I'm looking at the Samsung DVD P701. Looks like a very nice affordable progressive scan DVD. But there are no codes listed for any Samsung products. Also, does anyone have this DVD player? If so, does is play CD-RW's? It lists CD-R's as supported.

I am a samsung delaer and know for sure that there are no discretes for any of their top end TV's so I would not think that DVD players would have any. However I could be wrong!

i spoke to a samsung rep at ces who said they will not be releasing discrete codes. we were talking tv's, but he might have been referring to their whole product line.
the discrete codes will be used exclusively in their new home entertainment server product.
so much for samsung being cedia friendly.
