Hello,

Has anyone found any discrete power codes for Apex players, specifically for the AD-600A?

Thanks,

Eric

BTW, I just tried pressing Play as a discrete power on (and all the other buttons...) but that didn't work. :-( I never thought of trying that until reading about some other devices (lke Toshiba.)

Thanks,

Eric

Try 052. See the site:

for a more complete listing.

Hope this is helpful and what you are seeking.

Cheers.

Any idea if those will work with the AD800?

That's a good listing of advanced codes for the Apex, but there's no discrete ON and discrete OFF right? Only a power TOGGLE.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. This Apex DVD is throwing a big monkey-wrench in my setup, lol.

Anyone have any luck finding discrete On/Off codes for the 600A or is this a certified TOAD device? Without the Discrete On/OFF the 600A gets out of sync and messes up the simplicity of using the Proto Pro for the rest of the family.

Thanks!

No luck finding a discrete code for on/off with the Apex dvd players. However, I have a solution that at least, works for my theater. When DVD is selected from the main ccf, I send a "power on" code, followed by a "open/close" command. I then switch to a macro screen which asks "Is the DVD drawer open?". I present two buttons, yes/no. If they pick "no", I send the same commands again. If they pick "yes", I display a message "Get off your lazy butt and place a disc in the player! Press PROCEED after disc is loaded." When they press the "PROCEED" button, the drawer closes and it takes them to the DVD control ccf.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your responses-- I think I need to learn how to do interactive menus ;-).

Yeah, 052 is only a toggle. As far as I am concerned the 600A is a TOAD, but I really should sit down sometime and try all the codes...

What I have decided to do is to plug my player into one of the switched power outlets on my receiver. It seems to work fine, and I am going to be giving the receiver it's own circuit anyway, so I hope I am not causing problems in doing this.

Eric
