Guys, i have one more day before i get done Level1 training. Its burst and so far i have been very impressed with the training.

I cant believe how much the system can do, and at this price point? its amazing. It also sounds like Ra2 2.0 is coming out which will consist of a firmware update and software to make it even more powerful.

Anyway, i plan on hitting the ground running with it and the PSP program seems great. They way our trainer was talking they kinda "give you business"

any psp guys been doing good with it?

I missed the first day in the Toronto area today because of illness. They told me they'd let me in on day two. Does it make sense for me to come in having missed the first class?

If its set up like ours then you missed the parts lecture, history, and a couple different things. nothing that cant be summed up in 20 minutes. Tomorrow is programming and system design so you should defiantly sit in on that.

Started selling RadioRA several years ago, but quickly moved into HomeWorks. It is much more powerful, easier to program (no running around, which should be eliminated in RA2), and the hard-wired version is actually cheaper than RadioRA once you get 30+ rooms going.

Our biggest increase in sales for 2009 came from our lighting control categories, which includes shades. I suggest you go all in, and push for shades and lighting control. They complement each other. Don’t be afraid; just put some in your showroom or house to get familiar with them. It is much easier to sell if you can speak from actual experience.

I use my DA system every couple of days, but using my lighting control countless times every day…..

I heard HomeWorks is being replaced/upgraded, announced at CEDIA, supposed to happen the end of this year. Might want to wait on getting HW certified, but it might be easier now than later. Might mean 2 trips to Coopersburg.

Try out RA2 in your own house, before signing up for PSP.

I haven't installed any RA2 yet, but it looks like you'll have to replace every switch in each room, unless Maestro is there already. Not many clients will want this setup:

Confirm at BLAST that conventional wall plates will work over the RA2 dimmers, nagging concern.  And, ask about availability of multigang wallplates and adapters.

I guess you guys in Plymouth are already in class, maybe you're connected.

If you read this during the day today, ask about the new HW, wired and wireless.

haha yeah maybe.....Holy? shes really cool, very knowledgeable about ra2

i didnt fall asleep once, which is a good thing haha.

Im installing ra2 as we speak, it just sucks that it takes 48 hours to get the software.

by replacing all the switches, do you mean from original Radio Ra? this system is much more powerful then the old version and with all the benefits of it i cant imagine it being that hard, just gotta put your sales cap on =) "Ra2 2.0" offers much more functionality then what is available now, it should be out very soon

Seems like they can do anything you want with wall plates, They are decora, im not sure I understand the issue?

Decora style plates and switches are not new. You can get standard $1.99 Switches in a Decora trim.

Swapping out Switches and plates should be really really low on the list of concerns when quoting a whole house lighting control system.

when i first met her she was wearing a leather mini skirt, 4" heels and black fishnets. She tamed it down this time though. I'm sure she figured all those sloppy guys would be drooling on themselves.

i think ra2 has its place but they were pushing it for new construction big jobs which is critically wrong imho. it needs to stay where it was intended retrofot PLUS smaller initial installs. If someone wants LC for 90% of the loads ina house, it needs to be homeworks or similar.

things i saw that i didnt like. no pathway lighting with timed off events

no timed events for bath fans, etc (might work witha timed fade on a non-dimming switch)

no conditional logic.

just my 2 cents

Buts its defiantly a good start to entry lighting control. She did tame it down ALOT today, but got a bit playful towards the end of it haha.

That cutie is well paid by lutron and never in a million years are you going to score with it.

She's passionate because she wants you to buy her product so her nice 401k will grow.

Plus.. she gets off on getting a rise out of geeky A/V guys going coo coo for her cocoa puffs.
