I can not get the SQL server to install and thus no software.

I know the software is still in beta and I have emailed my SQL log to support and they are reviewing it. Curious if anyone has successful installed the RR2 software yet?

I have a job with the entire house installed and we are waiting to program.

Thanks in advance!

Let us know how it goes. I've got my first install next week. I will be downloading the software tonight.

Had no problem with the download other than the fact it took 45 mins. I love almost everything about the new software. The only suggestion I hope they listen to is to have a "all devices" in each room for scene programming. That way you can add all kitchen dimmers or all dimmers to the scene speeding up programming. Very excited!

I installed the full download last night, no problems. SOUND.SD, you need to remove SQL Server from your machine prior to installation and then re install all programs that relied on that old SQL Server installation after a successful RadioRA 2 installation.

Do you have another computer? I am using Win 7 x64.

Hopefully you didn't spend too much time walk-around programming the system because I think that all devices have to be reset prior to using the software control.

I have a system installed too, but have not loaded a programming file onto it. I have upgraded the firmware in the master. That took two attempts, I had to power cycle the master after the first failure. Thankfully, the firmware upgrade did not erase my walk-around programming.

Yeah.... programming is either/or. Just a bunch of cool dimmers with no programming at this point.

I find that the aerobic programming is now more time consuming than it was in Ra CLassic

What will the final version allow you to program? What is the programming differences between HomeWorks and RadioRa2? I am talking in terms of complex programming logic. I am curious which product allows the most complex programming logic. Thank You.

this is because the original unit was designed to be "walk around" programmed. the new system is designed to be programmed by the gui, therefore the walk around method is really cumbersome.

the only real difference is that it is limited to 100 devices, 200 if you are psp, and that it doesnt have conditionals. however, after doing the training at lutron, any good programmer should be able to mimick most conditionals with a control system (rti, crestron, amx.....). other than conditionals being internal, all other features are equal to or BETTER than homeworks. i hope this answered your questions. if you have more, just ask, several of us on here have been through the training.
