I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks now but was worried it might sound too sappy (or lead to a few swelled heads). I've never been what you would call a fan of the chat forum thing and over the past few years have experimented with only a handful - won't mention any specific names- but this is the only one that I keep returning to...the others I've tried are always the same story; filled with misinformation, a bunch of ego-maniacs, and mostly people looking for a fight. I've often said that the medium too often determines the message- that anonymity lets people say things online that they wouldn't say in person- but I get the distinct feeling that if I were standing next to you guys in a bar, the conversation wouldn't be much different.
There are a few threads that have had some shaky moments, granted....but generally speaking, you guys are good people. Thanks for that.

This is by far my favorite forum. The only other forum i have spent this much time at was computing.net when i was learning how to use a PC. That forum moved quick and had lots of knowledgeable helpers that solved problems almost as fast as they were posted.

Little by little the smart ones were driven away by the loud know it all grouchy morons. Now its a waste of time to even post there. I asked for recommendations on a laptop about 6 months ago and i got 7 responses about building my own linux desktop instead. Its like AVS for computers.

RC is where i post every question i have because i know that one of the experts will chime in with a real world answer. Tech support is pretty much a waste of time especially with larger companies. I read every new thread in all of the custom boards and a few of the others. I learn something new every day and its nice to see how other people are wiring things or what tools they are using or how they are handling intercoms etc.

Finally.. this board was built by end users & CI's who were just beginning to get involved in Universal Remotes. Everything was shared. I robbed the file area for discrete codes and graphics for years before i ever made a single post. CAIP's i work with say things like "I got the samsung commands from RC". This site is the top industry resource thanks to everyone who posts here.

Ditto to all. This s a really fun place (I know, "fun" is not an adjective) and I pretty much live here.

When I started here, I saw the output of several questionable personalities who hid behind anonymous names. I decided to use my actual name, figuring it might help me be humble. While it hasn't done that to any great extent, I enjoy the fact that it's me, warts and all, dumb and smart, and not some mysterious lurker. I applaud all who put their real names in here sooner or later.

Mostly I applaud Daniel for having such a great site, so easy to use, so open, and thank our lucky stars that we haven't had more crazies. Maybe the key is that crazies can't stand sarcasm. Lord knows there's lots of THAT!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Awwwwwww!

GROUP HUG!
The optimist claims the glass is half full; the pessimist claims it is half empty. An engineer observes that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Ps, you can't fix stupid

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

By "good people" I assume you don't mean me. I don't think I've ever been accused of being 'good people' before...

I also live on RC, though I wish I had more time to read and post more timely.
I started on the Phillips forums and soon moved to this CI Lounge and never left.
I don't know how so many of you can have daytime jobs and still find the time to post throughout the day, but I'm glad you do.
I sometimes am hesitant to post a question for fear of sounding stupid or ignorant. It's usually not till something drives me so crazy that I figure, what the hell...; and I usually get several good answers and many more joking ones. I'm very great full for actual answers, and I welcome smart ass remarks with a smile.

Thanks you all,
Mario Przepiora

I visit the site 5 days a week (weekdays) and LOVE reading it. I'm a DIY guy, but love CE and have learned SOO much from reading the posts and questions on the site. I rarely post, unless it's the odd question here or there. I cannot answer questions as eloquently or as thoroughly as most you can. I am engineer and have worked for Pioneer and have partnered with Echostar, so my background has some CE.

I would not have been able to program both of my Prontos had it not been for this site and the helpful people on it.

Thanks from a lurker.
