I have a Faroudja NRS that I have used for approx. 9 months. About 2 months ago, I developed a problem that I cannot troubleshoot. The problem is related to the IR sensor. The unit now powers on when using other remotes, sensing non-power on signals as "power on." For example, if using my TV remote, and sending my TV an "increase volume" signal, the Faroudja will power on. Interestingly, sending the same signal will not power the NRS off. The unit powers on with multiple other non NRS IR signals from multiple other remotes. I spoke with Faroudja person who had never heard of this problem . I have tried resetting the Faroudja multiple times but the problem persists. It is frustrating since I typically keep the NRS on standby unless using the unit. To summarize, any IR signal sent from non NRS remotes is interpreted by the NRS as a power on signal. I would appreciate any thoughts about what the problem is and if there is a fix.

Thanks, Larry Stern

I have made an additional observation. If I manually turn off the NRS, the unit will correctly not power back on sending non NRS IR signals as noted above. However, if the unit is powered off using the NRS remote, then non NRS remote signals immediately will power the NRS back on. Does this make sense?? A "hard," manual turn off then prevents the problem from occuring. I'm not sure this helps in fixing the problem though. Any more thoughts would be appreciated.
