What brands and models of multi-room audio are you guys out there using? What are the pros and cons that keep you using a consistant brand? Thanks for the input.

I've had success with russound, always works, never any problems.
Although you can find it all over the web so I'm looking at some other options,
Anybody have any input on Nuvo??

I also like AudioAccess, but also really like Audio Controls Director. It uses the same plates as the more popular lighting systems. It is truely a custom product.

They have great multizone amps too!

How many zones for Multi-room are you needing? You really can't go wrong with companies like Russound and Niles Audio. Russound has a wider range to choose from.

I agree, Russound may not be the sexiest product line out there but the stuff is pretty bullet-proof.From the A-Bus to the PR4-Z, solutions for most price points. Check out the new CAV-6 controller/amp and the advantage line of speakers. ELAN has some nice solutions as well.

Thanks for all the input guys...I really appreciate it. I am looking for a system that can handle 6 zones. Audio access is great, but then I have not used it in a few years. Has anyone been using the new Niles Intellicontrol?

Intellinet Controls from Russound. Good on many levels and the soon to be avaiable (not in beta) intelliserver is awesome...

A little more pricey than any of the systems mentioned above though!

Another good basic system is Xantech's MRC44 or the new MRC88. Really easy to program with their DragonDrop software and has been very reliable to this point. My only complaint would be the versatility of buttons as the keypads that come with it aren't expandable like a Russound. They look cool though and again, are easy to work with

PS
If you spec in this system, bury the wires and doc the locations... don't use a 2G P-ring as the keypads install with a bracket that uses the sides to compress into the drywall.

The Niles ZR-4630 is by far the best 6 zone 4 source unit out there. Programming is done from the master unit instead of the individual keypads, AM/FM Tuner built in, and great reliability. Only downside, It doesn't have play, stop, pause, etc keypad. As far as the Intellicontrol, in one word magnificent. World's best remote. I have installed many of them and would recomend them to even the oldest and youngest of people. Anyone can use this remote perfectly everytime.

Now, I've looked at this remote for years. I've found the programming procedure so different from everything else I've done that I just can't get my mind around it. As far as the user interface goes, how do you deal with the "higher order" control requests from customers? For example, the client asks for a aspect ratio zoom button. You put it in, but how do the oldest and youngest remember where it is?
Carpe diem!

What a rediculous statement. this remote was introduces 6 or 7 years ago and has not evolved with the times. The key layout cannot effectively control todays surround receivers, DVD Players, and High definition satellite boxes. The Storage capacity is horrible, And if your going to start tracking power states, the price gets rediculous.

Pronto and MX-700 crush the intellicontrol for usability and reliability. The RF range on the Intellicontrol is bad bad bad..... your beter off to use an IR repeater system with the Pronto or MX-700 and STILL be less than half the price of the Intellicontrol.
