Im not sure how many people here do demos after install anymore but I still get a kick after seeing a customers pleasure when they first hear/see their system. The watch us drill holes, pull wire, and ask for money..... but it all seems to mean something when its all done.

Let leave out vinyl or HDDVD/BluRay.

Lets keep it realistic for most.

DVD, SACD, DVD-A, CD, HDTV

- I just found a Artist named Angelique Kidjo and a song named "SUMMERTIME". Its good old 2 channel stuff but it is fantastic.

-Also, I always record "Sunrise Earth" on the discovery channel for my clients. Great Video.

Never Mind The Bollocks... Its the Sex Pistols!!!

But seriously folks (I do like the above album... just wouldn't fire it up for a client)

I really like a sort of acid jazz album produced by Walter Becker of Steely Dan called "Lost Tribe".

in the spirit of this thread...

we are firing up a new dedicated theater next week.... what would be a killer demo?
its just the average ada,rbh dwin install for us...... nothing to over the top.
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

If you want to display music on a system, Alison Kraus has been a good standby for me. The live SACD is one of my favorite, although her standard cd's are very well recorded.

Some parts of Spiderman 2 were pretty fun & the colors popped pretty well. Also a track or two off of the new Neil Young movie were quite involving & exceptional... Great cinematography too.

Did you get permission from them Copt right protected? lol

I have several favs. I recently (yesterday) came into possession of 3 THX/MONSTER/DTS discs. Ray Charles, 3 doors down, and one other i cant remember. The sound and image were great.

But my favorite is still the DTS version of LOTR2 the wall breach scene. FOR SOUND

and for Video I found that the DVD of Tristen and ISOLDE done in 1.78:1 is about the best picture I have seen on SD DVD.(also sound is great)
p.s. it is also a wonderful movie

and for BOTH I guess I can never fail with THE INCRIEDIBLES.

Probably the Peter Cincotti album. The stereo version of "I love Paris" is really something special.

DTS disc with Dave Matthews and the Blue Man Goup for both SD video and great examples of discrete sound effects.

I have used the Blue man group for sound effects but I wish the video was half way decent. Same with the Monster 3 doors down.

Dave Matthews always sounds good.

I just remembered my James Taylor CD today too.

Eagles ... DTS ... Seven Bridges Road ... This is an audio only track .. Great example of how all chanels are separate ... Have your customer place their ear at each speaker and you can hear Don Henley at 1 speaker, Glen Frey on another, Joe Walsh on another ...Etc ... Then have them step back into the center of the room ... Simple way to make customers understand how surround processing works ... Some of my other favorite demos are ... ELP's Lucky Man on DVD audio ... The Whole Nine Yards (Oz meets Jimmy "The Tulip" ... I think it's chapter 3 or 4) ... Diana Krall "Live in Paris" in DTS .. Anthing else on the DTS demo discs ...

Been using a DVD called Animusic recently, which really seems to impress the clients, to a point where they insist I tell them where to buy a copy.
