We have a client who wants a DVR with a built in cable guide.

We have installed a Toshiba DR4 DVR but it will not do a cable guide for the local cable company. He already has TIVO in his other home and loves it.

He wants to be able to record on his TIVO local cable programs but on another device be able to record or watch a 2nd channel. We were tring to do all this with a component video output. That means cable/F-connector in and component out.

He uses a HiDef moxey box from Charter Cable in St. Louis but his 2nd home does not have the service yet.

Any ideas on product? All ideas are welcomed.

Thanks,

Mike

how about the new series 3 tivos with dual HD tuners, and 2 one way cable card inputs and some other fancy upgrades??? or a couple splitters and a second cable box?

Does the cable company not offer something like the Motorola DVR box as a service upgrade?

Mike, I am assuming this is at the Lake. Have you tried your niffty HP Media Center PC? It doesn't do digital cable in, but it does do component out.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
