Home automation vendor Control4 expanded its retail partnership with Tweeter to support a nationwide rollout of its products in all 153 Tweeter locations.

Tweeter will offer Control4’s full line of products and will also provide system design services and professional installation and configuration.

“We have been extremely pleased with the consumer response to the combination of our easy-to-use, affordable systems with Tweeter’s revolutionary retail environment and service expertise,” said Control4 CEO Will West. “Experiencing home control and automation at Tweeter powerfully illustrates the practical application of this technology for any residence, dramatically expanding market opportunities for both companies and the entire category.”

“Tweeter’s partnership with Control4 continues to reinforce our position as a leading provider of innovative solutions that blend technology and broad consumer needs,” said Tweeter Vice President and General Merchandise Manager Dave Malin. “Rolling out Control4’s products nationwide is the next logical step for our relationship and for a technology whose time has come.”

They still though. Tweeter is considered a CI company. You either want in or not.
Some companies don't mind offering what the big boys offer (Bose). if the customer is going to ask for it, they will offer it.

Nationwide rollout to 153 Tweeter stores.... sounds like a great move for Control 4.

I don't have a tweeter in my area, but if I did i would expect to be cleaning up behind them quite often.

I don't think this is news. Anyone that thinks C4 is going to turn down Tweeter is smoking something funny. If C4 had signed up Home Depot or Best Buy that would be news.

Speaking of which, what ever happened to C4's test trial in which they had some Circuit City stores selling their product? Does anyone know? Is it still in the test stores?

I thought C4 held no reservations about admitting they may some day be in BB. I know the "wonderful" rep I spoke w at Cedia a few years ago had no problem admitting they might be in BB. Tweeter, BB, whats the difference? They can still kiss my A## !
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

I think you are more likely to be cleaning up behind hack CI guys. It would be a disaster for C4 if they implement this program without some sort of quality control.

When I attended their kool-aid session in Utah they stated that only a few items were going to be available to the larger (big-box) retailers. Their supposed plan was to wet the whistle of potential customers at the larger retailers and only make the more complicated items available through trained dealers. Complete rollout does not sound like a few select items. Looks like they changed their minds. BTW, Tweeter is no better than Best Buy in my experience.

They actually said CC's were selling limited items. They always said they would end up in BB's or Tweeters. They are looking for high volume dealers or dealers looking for the opportunity to do high volume low cost systems. They even claimed they would sell for the right amount. Imagine them being gobbled up by Samsung.

Their ambition is to start small, sell high and retire to the Bahamas along with all of the other former CE execs.

Imagine them being gobbled up by Samsung.

Samsung wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole, but given a few years from now, and an improved product, Nortec, Klipsch or DEI might.

Do you honestly think they give a sh*t about any form of quality control?

Not a chance in hell.

Get it out the door. Sell it to whoever is interested.

Follow up? Nope.

And in that regard, this could be a horrible decision for tweeter.

Saw a photo from the Boca, FL CC store yesterday. It was the Firedog plackard sitting on top of a Control 4 unit. It has begun.
