I was wondering if anyone has done this? I have a customer who wants it do it (big cnbc watcher). I have thought about building an enclosure in the corner and tileing around it. Putting a peice of plexiglass front and coating it with a steamless/waterproof film coating. There would be an access in the adjoning closet.
The sound would also be somewhat of a problem. I have thought about putting a outdoor inceiling speaker or a Pella in the corner. I am working on the bid this weekend. I have to have it done before leaving thursday for CEDIA.
I wanted to get your input before bidding.
Thanks in advance. Bruce S.

Your best bet is to have the TV viewable through a window in the closet. The window will need to be an insulated glass type so fogging and sweating will be minimized. Installing a window in the closet will be much easier and will let the TV breathe. You will need weatherproof speakers and a small amp to run them. If you can go ahead and tie the house audio in as a bonus. Don't forget the waterproof remote too.

I used tempered and tinted glass in the last enclosed shower I did. I will try to post some pictures this week, as the Border tile is going up now. As long as the glass is hotter than the surrounding humid air, you will no have a problem with the condensation. IF the TV is left on for a while might be able to do that for you. I would not use plexiglass for the application. The cleaning solutions and wiping of the plexiglass will haze and scratch easily.
This TV backed up to the laundry/closet and had a video splitter to the TV above the tub too. All control was IR passthrough and with a UNO-S2.
I am not sure what would survive on the ceiling of the steam shower as far as speakers go, just make sure they are easy to change :)

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other. |

We have thought about doing a pella or another DV surface mount speaker.
