A few months ago there was some discussion on this.
A client wants to use the variable audio out on his TV to a small power amp that will drive some decent in ceiling speakers overhead.
I currently sell an Integra that's 100 watts per channel for $300 and it seems like the 20, 50, 60 watt amps are about the same price. I'm looking for something very slim or even smaller than a sat receiver but I don't want to spend $300 on a dinky amp.
Someone here said a new model may be hitting about now that will be a winner. Any more news?

I would recommend checking out Niles Audio. ( www.nilesaudio.com) They have a black box for everything. What I am thinking of is their SI series amps. They are 17" wide, but very thin and produce good sound.

Browsing the RS (Radio Shack) site brought these to light: For cheap, look at this. For middle of the road (and mono) look here. To me, this is a bargain, plus it can work for multi-source music. If there are more than two speakers, this is a decent option. Larry www.fineelectricco.com

But I don't think the Niles comes cheap - I'm thinking a $199 retail piece.... There's a bunch of $300 and up amps out there.
Radio Shack? I am sure it would work, but I feel funny integrating RS stuff with the other things I supply.
Thanks for all the points of view!

You could check out the Parasound ZAMP, or also a company called Stewart Audio produces some very good amps for not too much price. www.stewartaudio.comthe half-rack stuff sounds great. (actually, all their stuff sounds great)
