I've read all the posts about Xantech and Niles and Audioplex, but think my problem is a little different.
I need an IR "blaster that I can locate in the same room as equipment with a strong enough set of emitters to control devices on 3 walls and the ceiling.
Reason being, I don't want to run cables to all of the following:
1 - Ceiling Mounted Projector (target on front and rear of PJ)
2 - Lutron Grafik Eye on Wall 1
3 - Equipment Rack on Wall 1
4 - Mini-blinds on Wall 2 (two locations)
5 - Mini-blinds on Wall 3 (opposite equipment rack).

I need it to do this while pointing at only a single target location (or better yet, without pointing at anything).

Almost anywhere on Wall 4 (rear of room) has total line of sight to all targets. Is there a super powerful "Pyramid" system that can do this? I keep hearing the term "IR Blaster", but can't find any decent info. Any other approaches? Multiple pyramids?

Please don't reply if you're going to suggest RF for whole house distribution, that's not my problem. There are plenty of other threads for that. Thanks.

pyramid system with emitters plugged into the back of them should work, you will need 1 for every piece of equipment you are controling (blind, projector, etc...)

I think maybe an X10 powermid may be powerfull enough to place in the back of the room and control the gear, as long as there is line-of-site. Also, here's a quote from a product on the Audioplex site.

"Flood entire equipment stack from 30 feet away. Wired with standard 2-conductor zip or speaker wire. Range lessens if off axis to equipment front panels.

Other flooding emitters are the IRFlood, a Shelf Top version (TB-T) and In-Wall version (TB-HS & TB-HD).+

I created an IR blaster by modifing a Xantech 789-44 connecting block. I use a standard table-top IR receiver connected to this block. Open the block up (drill out the 4 rivets) and you will see 4 resistors inside (one for each emitter output). Replace each 470 ohm resistor with a 100 ohm resister and the output port will now be a "high-power" output. I have a standard emitter connected to one of these modified ports and it reliably controls all my components from across the room.
