Hello again guys!

In my path of continuing new things, the latest would be jumping into networked cameras with access from anywhere. After a little research, the obvious Panasonic system showed up and seems to be decent. I am planning on:

1. Installing (6) exterior cameras
2. Viewing them from (3) tv locations within the house (controllers are RTI T4's & T3's)
3. Allowing the homeowner to access them from his laptop/internet connection from his homes in Hawaii, Australia, and England.

From the training I've had and the recent research it seems as if the Panasonic system can do all that with very little effort but like always, you guys have some great ideas on these things and I'd like to see if anyone would like to share opinions on these setups.

Have a good day!

They work great. Consider a dome housing for them for extreme inclement weather. Get the blwv10a for inside the house.

We've used them at CEDIA and EH Expo for the past couple of years with great results.

Do one better and use the PTZ cameras with full pan, tilt & zoom functions as well. ...But wait 'til you see the price of them.

If you plan on recording these cameras as well, you should consider a IP DVR and use regular cameras (non IP) instead.

You will find many DVR's on the market to do what you want. The main question is if you want to view the content on the web via browser or through the software that comes with the DVR. The software choice is better.

They work great.

Are you saying that these ip cams will send an analog video signal as well for the local TV distribution? Or are you using extrrnal servers of some sort? I thought they were strictly ip w no composite video outputs.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

On the Panasonic... ALWAYS KEEP A COPY OF THE SOFTWARE IN YOUR HANDS AND ON SITE. You can't configure a thing wihtout the software. I was really annoyed by a Security company that had managed to "forget the software" When they needed help with the network. "Man did they screw up my network... I had to come up with some interesting things to make the sire scheem they left me work.. Customer wanted two independent wireless networks. Well the security boys connected one wap into the other network and that was 4 hours ot of my life...
