I have Audio/Video business here on Long Island and I have programed many MX-500's and some Phillips Prontos by sending the signal from one remote to the other. I do not understand why Discrete Codes are used when you can just do what i have been doing. The only problmes i have had is with Sony power on & off, but what i figured out is if i just send the same button to the other remote in 2 differn't bottons it works. SO like i said why use discrete codes and how do you make/get them??
ALso, as far as training for remotes and home automation do you have any suggestsions as far as schools or programs??
Thanks for your time,
Lonny

As far as education goes, I would visit the Consumer Electronics Show and CEDIA shows and attend the many, many clases they have on these issues. Check out www.cedia.org for more info.

Discrete codes open up a whole new world of possibilities! Use as many as you can.
