I have been a custom installer for car audio for 10 years. I am now getting into home and commercial applications. I am looking for some good trade magazines to purchase and if I can split a DVD player output to go to two input devices without a switcher and/or preamp. If I need such a device please provide places to get them. Also have a customer with a JVC 4500 dishnetwork rf remote that needs replacing. Not sure what will work. Thanks for the help

Most DVD players will pass more than one audio?or video signal. Mine is passing coaxial digital to my reciever and analog to a audioaccess system, and to a modulator. It is also passing component video to the TV,composite video to a modulator, and S-video to the TV(I was checking color differences, and left it connected) It is a Sony. I'm assuming you werent talking about audio because you are not going to a preamp. Alsoyou can split analog audio with a y-splitter if the DVD player doesnt have two outs. Ypu can try to split the composite video also, but depending on the uotput strentg of the DVD it may degrade the signal, you can get a video amp if you need, but you should be able to just use s-video,and composite or component.
I think I saw a post about "remotereplacment.com" CB1

I am in Camillus (near Syracuse). I like mags like Mobile Electronics and Car Audio. I purchase through distributors. I can give you names if you like.
