Does anyone out there use Visio to show your installers, and customers equipment layouts and whole house audio design?
I've been watching the CEDIA course descriptions for about 2 years.
I would like to be able to have a diagram of my Home Theater, Whole House audio and security layouts.
Any input would be appreciated.

Visio is nearly perfectly suited for what you wish to do and many people here do the same. It is simple enough to use that the application does not get in the way of productivity, and it is customizeable enough that you can get as detailed as you likely need to on your drawings.

If you've used drawing applications in the past it's relatively easy to learn.

Using SmartDraw here - got fed up with Visio, as with all MS products, it's very unintuitive. Only problem is I have yet to figure out how to import Visio Drawings.

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"... |

I'm using Visio to try and map out a rack. Does anyone know a way to modify the built-in Rack Mounted Equipment Stencil? I'd prefer to use audio equipment instead of the computer equipment.
Thanks, CJ
