Installed the new Sony plasma screen PFM42B2 (just came out) for a customer. It is connected to a Dell desktop with a top of the line ATI 128mb video card. At all resolutions - experiencing slight flickering or oscillations in picture (enough to be unacceptable)- only when displaying the computer. Tried all display options - resolutions, refresh rates, etc.. Tried all possible troubleshooting including ground loop, AC sources, replacement cables, etc.. Saw in the manual later, a menu item in the Sony called Pixel Adjustment. It is not written very clearly but indicates that you can change the dot phase. Would this possibly stabilize the picture? I ran out of time but will be returning to the customer next week - would appreciate any suggestions or info. PS - Sony does have a factory reset so if things get changed you can undo your mess.

Did you up the vertical refresh rate? 60Hz refresh can cause of flicker like that. Try the highest vertical refresh rate that the plasma will support for the resolution you are inputting. For example, with a 1024x768 input signal, that plasma will support up to an 85Hz refresh rate. Increase the computer's output to 85Hz and see if the flicker is gone.
