Hi Guys,
I have a single Lutron Sivoia drapery track in my place. I want to use it with a Crestron PRO2, but don't want to buy the contact closure interface. Is there a way to send 232 or 485 directly to the motor assembly over the lutron mux bus?

You can't send 232, 485, or contact closure (without the interface) directly to the shade. However you can do IR. We have done this a few times when we are just doing a hometheater. A single drapery track curtain infront of the screen. You just have to get the IR dongle from Lutron. Their are discrete open, close, and stop codes.
So just tape or glue an emitter to the IR dongle.

I've got the IR interface currently, I should have posted that. I saw that Crestron has the ST-LT interface for the Grafik Eye, could this possibly be used? It appears as though they both use the same mux bus architecture.

The bus topology is the same, but the communications isn't. You can connect Sivoia to a Grafik through a SG-SVC. "Sivoia EDUs can be controlled directly from the GRAFIK 3000 wallstation by using the SG-SVC control." My preference for communicating with Sivoia via 232 would be through a HomeWorks processor and a Q96 interface, but it certainly is a lot of hardware for a single shade. I'd probably install an IR blaster for a single shade.

That's what I was afraid of. Is there any way to get analog or digital position feedback from the shade?

It would require a HomeWorks processor to decipher the data on the MUX bus, and then make it available to a serial port.
I agree that this is way overkill... If this were a client's home, I would also add that it could be the opener to a serious discussion about upgrading the lighting!! (although you True Blue snobs probably lean that direction for lighting)
