Hey, been using the KDS Fatboy 8x4 for a couple of jobs. Works great, but although I appreciate the BNC secure connections, I find the back panel is so cramped being only a 2U piece.

Alot of people have rave reviews for AutoPatch products. In the past I think I may have contacted them for pricing... but I don't know if I ever got a response, and if I did, I've misplaced it.

Just so I know what ballpark I'm in, could someone shoot me a retail price on a unit? Not exactly sure of the model#, but I'm thinking Precis (this is the entry level, correct?). Don't need a MEGA powerful unit, just 8x4 for residentail AV dist.

Features desired:

8x4
Component Video (HD compatible)
Digital Audio (I'd like a unit that can accept both optical AND coax, and output as coax, if this exists in the line)
Stereo Analog Audio
RS232 preferred, or IR rear port minimum.

I'm most curious about the price of a unit that does the above and uses RCA connections. But I'd also appreciate a second price for a BNC model if its not too much to ask.
Do all of their units use the same type of analog audio connects? Is this an advantage? WHy not just RCA/BNC?

Thanks a ton in advance...

Do not have prices on me but you can get the Precis with either BNC or RCA, the solution for IR is a Xantech IR to RS232 converter. The Precis I believe was built as a budget replacement for the people who were using the AMX Landmark switchers, it has the same features as Volume, Tone and Balance controls.

I dont have access to pricing here at home, however the basic precis av switcher will not have volume by default altlough it is an option. if i remeber from the last one i ordered a Precis LT in an 8x8 comonent matrix was about $1400 list. but this may be off.

bump.

I don't really need volume control (although this gives me some other ideas).

Anyone have retail pricing on a unit as described? Or close to it?
