What is the difference between these two players. And is it worth the money?

Biggest difference is 232 control, ethernet jack and a better video DAC on the X. Other than that you get a motorized door, backlit remote and a more solid chassis. I think that's it.

Actually, the only differences between the two models are the RS232, backlit remote, and a heavier chassis w/ motorized door. They share the same boards with the same video DACs, etc. Both also have ethernet built in for firmware updates (which there have been two over the past month. A third is to be out next week (v1.4).
