has anyone had experience with long HDMI cable. I need a 15 meter HDMI from equipment rack (H20, HD-XA1, AVR-2807) to display (PRO-FHD1, not in yet) i bought an Ethereal 15M HDMI and tested it on a Toshiba 32" LCD w/ HDMI in before i fished it through the conduit, getting everything ready for the FHD1. it did not work properly picture had static and would continually drop out. i switched to a shorter 6' cable and everything worked fine. i would normally not bother with HDMI but with the pioneer FHD1 accepting 1080p and bluray outputting 1080p and hddvd outputting 1080p in near future with the stupid little flag that determines what you see, i feel it necessarry to have everything in place to feed the 10k tv the best it can take.

I used a Liberty 15m from a NAD T534 hdmi out @ 720P to a Mitsubishi HCU3000 720P DLP proj with no problems - in my showroom.
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

With the longer HDMI cables there is a greater risk of problems.
Having said that, did you contact your Etheral sales rep. about sending you out another one?
While we do not see many bad cables (HDMI) it does happen and we want to make it right for you.
If there are any problems please call me.

Brent - hadn't you mentioned elsewhere that 15m may be borderline with a passive HDMI cable, that in some cases a repeater would be necessary?

Wow that is great to hear back from THE MAN. no i have not contacted my sales rep, but i do regret that now. thank you for replying and i will contact them today. also does the cable have more chances of "messing up" with the higher the resolution goes, because i was running 1080i but as soon as the pioneer is shipping we will want to do 1080p one day w/ HD DVD. i would like to make sure that it works now as well as in the future. again thank you Brent

Wow, I go out for the day and miss all of these great comments. Thanks.
Netark: Yes sometimes 15m is at the border (source dependent)

Unfortunatly yes the higher the rez the greater the possibility of signal breakdown.
I hope to get my hands on a 1080P machine very soon for testing, I will let you know.

Also 1.3 specs were just released and it looks like it will in fact be a different terminal (dual link). While this will eventually make its way into the CE world its primary purpose at the moment is the Hi Rez medical and commerical markets.
