Anyone hooked up a CAV 6.6 to be controlled by a PC through the RS232 port? Any suggestions on 3rd party software for a GUI? Having a little difficulty with PC Power Tools as well as it is my first time using this program.
I am working on a system controlled from Vantage right now. This will use the C5V touchpanel for limited one-way control. I will post more if you want.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
From Russound: PC Power tools is not a PC program which provides a user interface for an RNET system. It is a utility which helps a dealer program and document an RNET system installation. We are working with two WMCE SW companies E.I. and HAI. Cinemar is an interesting company that has developed some GUI (Graphical User Interfaces) tools for RNET for Pocket PCs and PCs. A new company to us out of the UK named Stardraw makes software that enables a dealer to create PC based GUI for RNET components.
I am familiarizing myself with PC Power Tools and I am aware that it is a utility to program the CAV 6.6 RNET system but it seems harder to use than it should be; having to ID 3 CAV 6.6 amplifiers using a keypad and Programming the System with the RNET cables disconnected. In my custom config I am using 3 Global Sources and some different sources for each CAV 6.6 so I believe I will have to set up each CAV 6.6 individually. I have found cinemar on the web and it looks good. Do you know an interface I can use for the CAV's RS232 port to connect to the net. The client wants to use their laptops to control the system. Thanks for any advice.
