I am having a problem with the sound on Comcast cable boxes cutting out for a split second. When you rewind the DVR the sound is there. Some of my clients say that it happens multiple times throughout the night. I've seen it happen once or twice. The box is hooked up to the receiver with a digital Coax and Analogue Audio Cables.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We struggle with the Motorola boxes in a big way. Too many clients disregard my advice and roll with Comcrap. You may want to try to "hard reset" the box by killing it's power for 15 sec's or so, then reapply power. I willnow instruct my clients to do it themselves as I am sick of calls about the cable losing audio or video when I recommended against cable to begin with.

I had a similiar problem a year or so ago. It was only on certain channels (news channels mostly). We had it connected the same way, digital coax and analog. After aurguing with the Charter go for 15 minutes, I tried resetting the A/V receiver. I went through the setup again, and everything seemed to work out. I believe I changed the surround mode (ProLogic from DTS). This was an old surround sound system that I inherieted, and it was the H/O's equipment.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Make sure you have the box turn off every night. In many markets, software updates only when the box is in the 'standby' mode (OFF).

Leaving the box on continuously causes similar situations where I live. If you have a hard drive based box in your market, this might be the issue.

Big Papa, You hit the nail on the head. That is always the fix. I have my client turn off there box at least once a week.
