From what I've heard, you'll need to hold the pen in his hand.

Ed, I've not heard of this one yet either. My business liscence is in Lake County, and no one's ever asked me anything about it or any registration. Is this a goverment job you're bidding on?

I've never had to register for another county.....From Zion to Dekalb to any other city in between......

Unless its the fun you get if its a union job and they wanted to Bust Your Balls.......
The following happened in the city..
Hey... (The man at the lower elevator door says) Did you pull your elevator permit for this job....."No", I replied......
"Then here's your door", he says.....showing me the stairs....
"But it's on the 14th floor", I replied.
Yep......The Elevators for Union Workers and those with permits....
And when I got on the 14th floor there he stood waiting for me.....
He says "Hey guy, If you knew I wasn't going to let you use the elevator, did you think I was going to let you wire this place either?"
And back to the office I went......

I've only had to pull permits and such in Florida for different things, but none that I can think of for here.....

It's all the union B.S. don't you know that the elevator operator is union as well. Most of the time it’s about “insurance”, because of course they know what their doing; not little old you. I would tell them to get bent and take the elevator anyway. I’ve done it before and told them to go ahead and call the cops, I’m also 6’5” 300 lbs and detest union bullsh$t. I had a friend that was a journeyman electrician, his job at the Merchandise Mart during conventions and festivities was to put wall plates on and plug in the power strips to the wall. He was getting $38 an hour plus overtime for this. Hard to believe nobody wants to hold a convention in town.
Most of the time, if the homeowner yells at the building staff enough they go away.
