iTunes can only go ONE way. From it to iPod. You can always brun your iTunes music to CD then rip it over to your server. iTunes music is AAC wich is their version of 192 kbps MPEG 4. The problem is the DRM which is wrapped in every MP3 from major download site. DRM free MP3's are the way to go to swap around to differnet music servers and players, or self ripped CD's.

Yeah I've found that if you just burn subscription music to a CD and then rip it, there are no more protections on it. I don't use iTunes, rather I usually use MSN Music, but I'd imagine the results would be the same.

The compatibility, non-standardization, and all of the other factors are why I do not personally own an iPod, although practically everyone I know has one.

I like my Creative Zen Micro. I has 6 gig, an FM Radio/Recorder, Voice Recorder, and synchronizes to Outlook calendars and contact lists. I can use standard music (as from MSN) if its Playsforsure, and can get everything off of it onto other computers also.

You used to be able to use this which strips the DRM :

UNTIL iTunes 6 came out and Apple plugged the hole . If your customer hasn't updated to iTunes 6 (which I bet he has) , it can still be used . JHymn is working on a new version but it will take a while .

I have stopped buying music on iTunes Music Store because of this .

Doesn't "copypod" allow you to drag-n-drop from the Ipod to any folder?
