MY IR extender (the little RF transmitter in the battery compartent) solution has stopped working -- can't get it to work with new batteries and everything else I 've tried-

So what is the simplest reliable solution to distribute IR to 2 components in a cabinet? Same question in another room with a tivo in an adjoining room feeding a tv in the open-( I can get a cat 5 wire from tivo to other room no problem)

I've got the mrf250 with URC remotes downstairs, but it seems like overkill to use it in these 2 locations-- I don't really need RF, just distribute the IR--

Thanks

Find Larry Fine's email address and ask him. He has come up with about a $100 solution several times. Because I just reach for Xantech to install in people's homes, I don't remember the brand name that he knows about.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

We use Xantech's new little brother - Proficient. Some of the best looking and easiest to use IR we have seen.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I like Niles. It is more expensive than most but does a great job. Lots of options for the IR receiver and I really like the high-powered blasters instead of going with IR emmitters on each piece of equipment. You can also use mini-plug patch cords if your equipment had a mini-plug for IR signals. Much better than IR emmitters.
