I am looking for discrete surround codes for a Krell Showcase Preamp being controlled by an MX3000. Does anyone have these or know where I can go to get them?

The email address on this page goes right to Jim the head tech support guru. Or you could ask for him on the phone. I'm sure he'll be able to send you the codes (or at least the hex codes that you can use the universal browser to import into the 3000).

He's a very firendly and nice guy who loves to help. Great company all the way around.

I have talked with Jim. He is very helpful. And Krell is a great company to work with. They sent me the hex codes but I am not sure how to convert them to a .ccf file. Universal Remote said I need to have them in their .ccf format for them to work with the MX3000 and that there is no place to input a hex code into the setup. How would I use the Universal Browser to change the codes to what I need?

Use prontoedit and make a page of codes with small buttone each....Then edit the Ir commands for each button and you can cut and paste the HEX code into each of these...

Save your file.

When finished open MX3000 software and use the universal browser on the upper right of the task bar next to the update satellite icon.....
Locate the pronto file and presto

This will bring the pronto codes into play where you alias them into the universal remote....

I know its a round about way....but it's all about time and effort for some of these results...............

Good luck

Thank you. That is a good suggestion. I'll try that out.

You could do what CI recommends, or you could lean hard on HTM - call Hank and Eric - and tell them that these codes NEED to be in the database. Give them the hex codes from Krell and hopefully a day or two later a database update will make the codes available for all of us.

Hell, send them to me and I'll go through my rep and get them put in. All Krell dealers need these codes. I haven't been that worried about it in the past as 99% of my Krell installs use RS232. But still, those codes should be in the database.
