ok i have an stand alone theater, ada system that customer is retarded on. they have a pronto which is 100% ir. it works awsome for me but this guy refuses to point remote at screen. so things sometimes dont work.

what i would like is a good remote that i can use. what i would like to do is remote transmits rf to some kind of receiver that outputs ir and or 232.

the RTI t3 looks cool but never used a rti product so not real sure. is it easy to use? program etc.

thanks

ed

Which Pronto does he have?
All the models I use have RF as well.
Use in conjunction with a Pronto RFX-6000 or RFX-6500 (RF Base Station)
and your problem is solved. No more unreliability because the Remote is not pointed at the IR receiver.

Install a 360 degree ceiling mount IR receiver and use the Xantech IR to RS-232 box.

A relatively inexpensive suggestion to totally upgrading to Crestron or AMX.

To your original comment, I switched from Pronto to RTI about a year ago, and I'm not looking back. Pair it up with an RP-6 and you can do just about anything, except 2-way communication.

I love T-3's, they've solved a TON of problems for me.

Just my $.02 worth.

Fred, The new processor is coming and it will have 2 way 232.

Agreed the RTI has not given us a lick of trouble. Every system works and we havent gone back except to add a few fav channel icons or move button or two for the client

Any ETA on date? I saw the box at CES and again at EHX, but nobody is saying when it's coming. Also to get 2-way, don't we need to send the T-3's in for an upgrade?

According to Matt the 2 way processor should be out around Cedia, maybe a little before then. I am becoming more and more of a RTI fan the more I play with their product.

I did have a T2+ that would not hold a charge. It was weird, I called the company number. Actually spoke to a real live person right away. They faxed me a RMA right away, I sent it back that day. And within 2 weeks it was back.

There is nothing like being able to make a phone call and get some decent support on the other end. As soon as I know everything I won't need to worry about that, but until then. Company's like RTI will get my support.

Ed,

You can't use an RF station for the Pronto? The 6500 is really a big step up from the older unit. If you are using a 7XXX remote it really gives good results.

As for the T3. I am using it in my system at home and it works despite the issues of where I live. RF remotes don't really work in my home due to living right next door to a HAM radio operator.

I would say that the T3 RP-6 combo is above 90% in my RF awfull home.

@v@d also has online trainings available 24/7. Plus, you get RTI bucks!

Food for thought.
